TrueScan's next generation technology is superior to other services on the market and is backed by our quality assurance commitment. Our scans are as real as when the image was taken: sharp, true colors without blurring. All of your image material is scanned by hand by our trained photo technicians in the U.S.
TrueScan utilizes next-generation scanning technology that ensures the highest quality scanned images.
Today, most scanning services on the market utilize the ICE infrared technology to detect image flaws and correct them.
The ICE technology replaces the flaws and dusts with nearby colors - essentially blending them into the surrounding colors.
This process creates blurring and as a result significantly lowers the quality of the scan.
To make matters worse, when scanning older glass framed slides or negatives, the glass and silver particles present in these materials will distort
or block the scan, creating an incomplete image. This is also true for your Kodachrome and Ektachrome slides and negatives.
At TrueScan, instead of using ICE, we focus on your image at the pixel level. This revolutionary and unique approach allows
us to look at the individual pixel of your image rather than the dust or scratches on the surface of your slides and negatives.
The result is an image as it was first taken. This is why we are - TrueScan.
Our standard scan resolution starts at the level of quality most other services charge extra for.
Our standard scans are done at 4,000 dpi - allowing you to see your image in the same sharp,
stunning detail you see with your own eyes.
Think of it like the difference between watching TV on a standard
set versus a high definition screen. We also ensure that our scans are future-proof meaning that with bigger
prints or screens your image will still maintain its sharpness and clarity.
When you look at something, you see its full range of colors - lighter, darker and in between. When you take an image of something, you're doing it so that you can remember that moment and the full color it came in. When you choose TrueScan, your resulting image will show each moment in its true colors. Our technology captures and stores the entire color spectrum of each pixel in your image. As we scan our image, our technology detects each color and all of its nuance and records them resulting in what experts call "beyond True Color". Our scanning process takes in color in much the same way your eye does - to achieve this, we use 14 bit per color scanning and can scan 4.39 billion color variations capturing every nuance you saw when you first took the image.
If you are scanning older image material, colors, light and shadows may be slightly faded, damaged or distorted. That box of photos from under your grandmother’s bed may have yellowed or darkened over time and we are here to help you fix them. At TrueScan, we work hard to correct these issues and restore your images to their previous color levels. Our technicians will restore light, shadow, and colors by hand so that your resulting image looks as bright as the first day it was taken. Look at the images below to see what we mean.
